You Are Allowed to Outgrow Your Old Self

One of the most beautiful things about your twenties is realizing that you can change.

The person you were at 18 doesn’t have to be the person you are at 22.

And the person you are at 22 doesn’t have to be the person you become at 25.

You are allowed to change your opinions.

You are allowed to change your goals.

You are allowed to become more confident.

You are allowed to become more private.

You are allowed to stop explaining yourself to everyone.

You are allowed to decide that something you once wanted isn’t what you want anymore.

Growth sometimes looks like adding things to your life.

But sometimes growth looks like letting things go.

Letting go of friendships.

Letting go of habits.

Letting go of expectations.

Letting go of the version of yourself you created simply to make other people happy.

You don’t owe anyone the same version of you forever.
