When you’re younger, friendships can feel permanent. You grow up together, share everything and imagine you’ll always be close.
Then adulthood happens.
People move.
University changes things.
Careers become demanding.
Relationships become serious.
People develop different priorities.
And suddenly, the person you used to speak to every day becomes someone you occasionally check on.
That can hurt.
Sometimes friendships end because of conflict. Sometimes they end because of distance. Sometimes nobody does anything wrong; you simply grow in different directions.
Learning to accept this is part of growing up.
Not everyone you meet is meant to walk with you for your entire life.
Some people are there for a season.
Some are there for a lesson.
And some become lifelong friends.
The important thing is to appreciate people while they’re in your life without becoming so afraid of losing them that you stop allowing yourself to grow.
